Her mantra is "To be kind to people is to be kind to yourself, no matter where you are planted." She was raised in Georgia, USA and as a child her family saved paper and fabric scraps for multiple usages around their home. As soon as she attended college Roanne started upcycling clothing by hand using deadstock, secondhand, and ethical textiles. In order to raise the fashion industry's awareness of environmental issues, she wanted to develop zero waste clothing using leftover materials. In addition, she wants to create a community of makers and doers who want to share their stories through art.
